World Mental Health Day 2022

Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, DHQ Hospital FMU/PMC Faisalabad Organized a Seminar on World Mental Health Day,”Make Mental health and Wellbeing for all a Global Priority.” on 29th October 2022PROF. IMTAIZ AHMAD DOGAR, Consultant Psychiatrist (President of Pakistan Psychiatry Society), Chairman Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Dhq/ Allied Hospital, Punjab Medical college and Faisalabad Medical university FSD, spoke on the topic of “why to care mental health, why mental health and wellbeing is important and how to care for our mental wellbeing”PROF. ZAFAR ALI CH. (TI), Patron in chief, Vice Chancellor FMU, Faisalabadshared his knowledge about the “IMPORTANCE OF WELL-BEING”. He thoroughly discussed how we could work on improving our physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

PROF. FAREED ASLAM MINHAS highlighted “Cognitive Dysfunction interest group & It’s contribution in Pakistan”, in which he shared his contributions and future goal of making special functional tablets for virtual psychological assessment for every psychiatrist and psychologist.PROF. ALTAF QADIR spoke on the, “Mental Health Legislation in Punjab”.PROF. ALI MADEEH HASHMI Professor of Psychiatry KEMU/PIMH, Lahore gave awareness about “Mental health in Pakistan, Where do we go from here”.Ms. SAMREEN AFZAL, Senior Clinical Psychologist, gave lecture on “Mental Health At Work Place”. DR. ASIF BAJWA Psychiatrist at Rubina Memorial Hospital, talked openly about mental health issues.

DR. IRUM SADDIQE Associate Professor Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, DHQ/ Allied Hospital Faisalabad, she gave vote of thanks at the end of the seminar. At the end of the seminar the dignitaries were presented with sheilds. The event was an amalgam of multidisciplinary and cross sectional collaboration with multiple stake holders- educational departments, social work, non governmental organisations, administration, primary health care, law enforcing agencies, academia, media, psychologists and mental health professionals- all singing from the same hymn sheet- public health approach for mental health.
