Integration of Mental Health Into Primary & Secondary Healthcare
Non-Communicable disease (NCDs) including (Diabetes, Hypertension, Chronic Respiratory Diseases and Cancers) are disproportionally affecting all age groups in all socio-economic strata. To combat the rising burden of the disease and its associated morbidity, Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, Punjab (P&SHD) established “Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Disease Program (P&C of NCDs)”, which is playing its key role for early detection of prioritized NCDs and prevention through health advocacy. The scope of the program has been scaled-up by P&D Department, Govt of the Punjab by including service delivery against prioritized Mental Health Disorders.

To Accomplish this objective, the Program collaborated with Pakistan Psychiatric Society (PPS) who developed Technical Guidelines and support-material for prioritized mental health disorders (NCDs Program. Along with this, the organization is also providing support for Training sessions for district staff through its Resource Person. The P&C of NCDs Program is very thankful for all kind support provided by the organization.
